  7.   ** Notes about Remote Access **

  9.   Currently, Silver Xpress is fully QBBS compatible but the install
  10.   program will set you up for RA painlessly.  (We have already embarked on
  11.   directly supporting RA. It will be simple and fast for us to do!)
  12.  
  13.   In the mean time, all you have to do is make sure you have the
  14.   following files ready for Xpress to read in your RA directory:
  15.  
  16.    CONFIG.BBS   - The QBBS config file. Use RA2QCFG.EXE.  Every time you
  17.                   make a change to you CONFIG.RA, make sure you run RA2QCFG
  18.                   and then recompile the Xpress control file with XPCFG.
  19.                   This will make sure that Xpress is upto par with
  20.                   CONFIG.RA.
  21.  
  22.    FLSEARCH.CTL - This is optional if you plan to provide to your users
  23.                   off-line file download requesting.  This is an excellent
  24.                   feature for users and they will adore your BBS for
  25.                   providing it to them.

  27.    ECHOORIG.CTL - This is optional if you want to have flexible origin
  28.                   lines for your echo areas.

  31.    EXITINFO.BBS - Required for Xpress when calling from the BBS.
  32.                   Use the RACVT converter.

  34.   Other files that Xpress looks for:

  36.    MSG*.BBS files, and USERS.BBS

  38.   If you never used QBBS before, then you will probably need the
  39.   RA converter files. The following files are available on my

  51.      - Old item revived in QBBS/RA version - Area Selection Grid.

  53.          QBBS has a toggle in QCONFIG.EXE for combined areas,
  54.          RACONFIG.EXE does not.

  56.          Xpcfg.exe looked for combined areas when reading config.bbs.
  57.          Since there are no combined areas under RA, Xpcfg found no
  58.          areas! RA sysops then required QCONFIG.

  68.          Version 2.27 had a problem trapping with message bases that
  69.          were not renumber. This version should take care of that and
  70.          get rid of the error message: error 100  0000:12F6

  72.          One of the problems I saw and I'm not sure if this is RA
  73.          message file maintenance related, was a record in MSGHDR.BBS
  74.          pointing to NO text in MSGTEXT.BBS. Xpress did not trap for
  75.          this and now it will. It will display a error in the log and
  76.          to the console.

  78.      - Qinstall was changed at the last moment and it caused a problem
  79.        when the run directory was not the same as the install directory.
  80.        This QINSTALL is fixed.

  82.      - For large msg numbers, the scan table was off in the display format
  83.        of message number - cosmetic fix.

  85.      - Known logic bug, not yet fix.

  87.        For interzone mail (Net mail to other zones), the reader
  88.        creates the internation line kludge line using the your default
  89.        primary address. If you have a AKA address, the door will use
  90.        it BUT it didn't update the kludge line with the new AKA
  91.        address.  I attempted to fix this in this version but I ran
  92.        into other repercutions - so I left that out for now.
  93.        The result - If you sent NETMAIL to other zones, the receiver
  94.        will get your PRIMARY address rather than your AKA address.
  95.        If the receiver does not belong to the your primary ZONE, he
  96.        won't have a easy or rather automatic method of replying.

  98.      - Multi-line version.  In order to utilize the multiline, you must
  99.        specify the -ML switch on the XPMAIL.EXE command line.
